Welcome to version 2.0!
When I sat down at the end of December with Adam and hacked out the original version of this site in a couple of days over the Christmas break I knew it needed a major upgrade. June marks the sixth month of this site and it felt like it was time for a facelift.
First off let me apologise for the outage earlier, I had to make some pretty major changes as you can see! But I think we’re back on track now and everything seems stable. There are some minor bugs for me to work out (like the time displaying on the front slider and how to get some of my database pages to play nicely with the upgraded theme) but it’s mostly there. I’ve had to remove a few minor bits of functionality to get everything running again, I expect to add them back in shortly.
I’m really thrilled with how the site has grown so far and I’m heartened by the number of people that have asked if they can contribute. Lets be clear – I would love more people to contribute so that we can make this a fantastic resource for all kinds of live roleplaying. So if you think you’ve got something interesting to say just drop me a line!
Since I installed some good stats monitoring at the end of Feburary, Larp.Guide has had over 19k views. Yup, nineteen thousand! I was pretty excited when I saw that the counter had turned over this morning, I’ve got to admit. From something that started as a way for me to see what was going on next weekend, it seems to be growing pretty well! Hopefully we’ll continue to grow and together we can make this one of the best resources for LARP on the net.
