Well ok, it was a drake. But that’s close enough to rip off Bruce Lee.
In case you haven’t heard – this weekend Bill and Kiera Thomas, and their team, outdid last years big Empire LRP monster (you have heard of the war rhino… right?) and delivered a drake. Not just any drake, a fully moving drake that breathed fire! Well, smoke. It was smoke. But that’s almost like fire!
So without any further introduction, here’s pictures of the maquette and the final build just in case any of you fancy having a go at your own drake at some point in the future. (The monster crew had a huge amount of fun playing with the maquette and making appropriate noises too, but I suspect not quite as much fun as the operators of the drake itself had.)
And if you were fed to the drake… hard luck… but I’m fairly sure that counts as a glorious death.
