There’s been loads happening out there in the LARP community this week, so here’s your week’s roundup of the best things that you should have seen elsewhere:
Lizzie Stark at Leaving Mundania published a guest post that has recently been translated into English, about the idea that the ‘good roleplayer’ shouldn’t really exist because it can be harmful to both participants and the game. What do you think? Why don’t you go and leave a note in their comments?
LARPBook released their twentieth podcast this week, and they went somewhere that no one should ever go. Steampunk Rocky Horror. Honestly, you’ll just have to take a listen for yourselves.
A seriously cool tutorial crossed my Facebook feed a few times this week – the idea that you can 3D print your own custom stamps for leatherworking. Does anyone fancy having a go and writing up their experiences for our Making section? The world really does appear to be your oyster with this technique, and I’m now wondering if my Odyssey costume needs some leatherworked touches with a Minoan theme…
I really love these tealight holders* from Fifty Eleven Cabinetry* on Etsy*. Many of you will know Sabrina from games in the UK, and you’ll know that her woodwork is absolutely beautiful. I could see these as a way to subtly hold modern tea-lights while at historical LARPs.
