Second Look 2015: Week 40

By Charlie · On October 4, 2015

The thing about running LARP.GUIDE is that I come across so many interesting things about LARP out there on the internet, but I can only write a finite number of posts inspired by the things I see. So it was time for a weekly roundup post of all the good stuff that’s happened this week in the world of LARP. If you see something that you think others would love, drop us a line on Twitter and let us know!

LarpForge put out another video in their great ‘quick tip’ series, rounding up why you might want to train with a weapon before you use it on the field. The rest of the Quick Tip series is well worth a watch.

Weregeek banner

If you like geek cartoons, have you seen Weregeek yet? This week they put out a comic that I think many LARPers who are trying to ‘adult’ well will be able to relate to. And the comment about not eating while playing WoW? Well that’s pretty much me.

Underworld LARP Twitter Profile

@UnderworldLARP is a great Twitter feed to follow. They’re a medieval fantasy LARP based in Canada and it’s currently running in it’s 18th Season. You might not be local enough to head along to one of their events, but their Twitter feed is full of interesting finds from the world of LARP.

AtomicGirlShop

We’ve been having a bit of a post-apocalyptic theme recently, so if you’re also putting together a costume you might just fall in love with everything that Atomic Girl has to offer in her Etsy shop. Even better – she’s based in London, so the shipping charges aren’t extortionate!

Lastly, Oliver McNeil is crowdfunding to raise money to build a live dungeon crawl adventure game. If you’d like to contribute to the project and help with the playtest you can find the information here at gofundme.com.

Charlie

When Charlie isn't playing or photographing LARP, they're stuck down the costume mines making accessories for others to wear when playing LARP!
